My day started by going snorkelling. Kingston Beach is the local hangout for me and my family, so I went there. Beautiful day! Quite cool breeze so there was a bit of a swell but up near the sailing club it was protected. Warm sun. Kingston Beach is really pretty - I've always thought. It's where I go to think and walk away my troubles - let the wind carry them away. Anyway, Storm Bay in the south east and the mouth of the derwent and the iron pot lighthouse visible and stretching back from that, the long thin peninsula of south arm.
Looking west, Mt wellington looming over everyhting. I love Hobart!
Yesterday I got into my wetsuit and waded into the water with my mum and sister. Then I swam over to the rocks that form the harbour wall, below the sailing club. It's so cool swimming with a scuba mask on. Everything appears larger and closer to you and you can clearly see whats underneath you. Below me strands of kelp and green weed drifted in the current. Starfish of many colours clung to the rocks. A striped trumpeter swam by and hundreds of tiny fish sparkled in the sunlight beneath me. They darted in and out of the weed, afraid of my shadow.
Further on in a little alcove of rock I swam amongst green sea grasses. I touched a marroon sea slug, stroking his back. Thousands of rocks came near me as I swam closer. It was a bit scary at times but well worth the effort and risk. If I hadn't been brave enough, I wouldn't have reaped the benefits of the wonderful world below. I want to explore more coastline.
I swam out of the alcove and along the rocks in fairly deep water. This was challenging because I couldn't see that cleraly. There are so many rocks and barnacles down there that they form a sediment and the water becomes a bit murky. I did swim close to the fronds of some giant kelp. It swayed in the current and I caught a strand as I dived down deeper.
Swam back inshore and then went home.
Later went dancing and learnt lots of new steps. Got confused but I think i've got the 1st 10 counts. Went to the pub fo social dancing and had such a fun time practicing and learning steps, dancing with many cute and sweet young men and chilling out with friends. Had a couple drinks and had one bought for me. Good life really!
Gospel choir? Well, one of the dance steps has to be done by feeling the groove and forming a pulse - same as we do in choir.
Enjoy your life! It's worth living! Enjoy th challenges.
